The Return of Garbage Box

Garbage BoxGarbage Box has returned with a totally new layout, system, name and location. Please update your bookmarks and links to http://www.garbagediscobox.com to keep up to date with the latest Garbage News as it breaks!

At a time when the vast majority of Garbage web sites are dying I was approached by Tiago to help develop the next generation of his site because like many of the fan sites the owners just don’t have the time to keep them running. Within a couple of moments it was decided that the greatest Garbage fan site ever could not die like the rest, so we have developed a site that is so easy to update this site should always live on.

The new and improved Garbage Disco Box will now be updated by 3 people. These are the founder of Garbage Box Tiago Palma, Michel Rijkels and myself. The system that we have installed allows all three of us to update the site from anywhere in the world including from our mobile phones via SMS text message if we wish so you could get live gig reports in the future as it happens – of course we need a tour before that can happen!

So what’s new?

Comment on the NewsThe News Archive is now 100% searchable and has been archived into categories so that you can just search for Tour News, Butch Vig or Shirley Manson news if you require. The full archive has been added to our database so we have around 900 news articles dating back to 2001. There are some older dates also included in the database and over the coming months we plan to take the archive right back to 1994 when news first started to break on Garbage.

Forum

ForumThe Garbage Discography forum has now become part of this site as well, so extended topics and comments can be made there on any story you wish to talk about. Everyone who was already registered on the old Garbage Discography forum can automatically log into both Galleries using the same log in details as before.

The Galleries

GalleryWe have 2 Galleries, one for standard studio, press and video captures and the other is the Tour box dating back to 1995. We have over 2,500 images in these galleries. Each and every one of these images can be sent as e-cards to your friends and family with your own personal message; if you don’t have any friends then you can always sit back and watch any gallery as a slide show.

Interactive

Tour BoxGarbage Disco Box is now fully interactive with you guys the end user. You can now comment on every single news article and image listed in our Databases, as already mentioned you can send every image in our galleries to your friends as e-cards or simply vote for your favourite images.

RSS – Keep Ahead of the Rest

RSS FEEDGarbage Disco Box now has an RSS Feed so you can keep up to date with the Garbage news without even visiting the site. You can subscribe to our main feed and will work with Mozilla, Opera or FireFox. The feed has also been tested in the Thunderbird email client. Some mobile devices can also read RSS feeds, stay tuned for our forthcoming Mobile Device site!
