A new group has been added to facebook.com called “Free Shirley Manson” in support of the fact that the Shirley Manson fans around the world want music which is 100% by Shirley and not music designed by Record Company bosses so that they can snort another £10K of coke a year….
Shirley Manson has been speaking to the Daily Record in Scotland. It would seem that her debut album has been put on hold thanks to the blundering idiots in charge at her record label.
The men in suits who would rather whore the likes of the next Brittney Spears have decided that Shirley’s music is too dark for today’s pathetic market of music that we sadly live in today.
I think I can say that I speak for the millions of Garbage / Shirley Manson Fans around the world who feel that they should grow some fucking balls and let Shirley do her own thing.

Shirley Manson’s duet with former live bass player Eric Avery has leaked you can check it out on you tube. The entire album has been doing the rounds online since Thursday of last week. Thank you to whoever uploaded this in the first place.
Eric Avery’s debut album “Help Wanted” which features Shirley Manson is set for release on April 8, 2008 in the USA.
The song “Maybe” – lovely, dark and deep, due partly to the lilting contribution of singer Shirley Manson – limns a period of depression during which Avery felt unable to connect with those he was closest to. “We’re still alive/ I hear your kind words, and it’s some kind of miracle,” he sings, confessing, “It all sounds sort of hollow/ All that’s better left unsaid/ Won’t ever make it across our bed.” He credits Manson with kicking him in the ass to make sure he finished Help Wanted. The album’s title alludes to his need for a boot to the butt as well as the larger needs of the nation. (Among the other notables lending a hand were Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, who played trumpet.) Another highlight of Help is the closing track, “Sun’s Gone,” in which Avery sings in his unstudied baritone, “Just when I think that it’s too late/ Like some final hour, the earth rolls over, and brings light to new ground.” “This album feels like a re-emergence from being underground,” he attests.
