Shirley on fashion show for heart disease cause

The Red Dress Collection 2006 celebrates the third anniversary of the Red Dress, the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness. This unique fashion show brings together on one runway more than twenty top fashion designers paired with a star-studded cast of distinguished celebrities to raise awareness of the #1 killer of women.

The 2006 Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection, a theatrical production that combines fashion, music, beauty, and heart health is taking center stage on the runway at Olympus Fashion Week, February 3rd at 3:00 p.m.

More than twenty female musical artists will wear red on the runway encompassing all music genres from country and rock to hip hop and Broadway-including luminaries Amerie, Bebe Neuwirth, CeCe Winans, Deborah Harry, Emmylou Harris, Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas, JoJo, Jossie Perez, LeAnn Rimes, Lee Ann Womack, Michelle Phillips, Nelly Furtado, Sheryl Crow, Shirley Manson, Thalia and Yolanda Adams.

Bobbi Brown will exclusively provide make-up for the show, specially with her RED lip color, a creamy semi-matte color with rich full coverage as the signature look for the show.

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) created and launched the Red Dress as the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness. NHLBI’s ingenious creation of the Red Dress and National Wear Red Day (February 3rd) creates a greater awareness and better heart health for all women.

NHLBI Director Elizabeth G. Nabel, M.D. says “The debut of the Red Dress Collection 2006 delivers an urgent reminder for women to care for their hearts and to take action against heart disease, the number one killer of women.”

Packed with glamour and excitement, the fashion show draws more than twenty top female artists (7 of whom are Grammy nominees) and pairs them with top fashion designers including Calvin Klein, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Esteban Cortazar, Luca Luca, Michael Kors, Narciso Rodriguez, Oscar de la Renta, Sean by Sean Combs, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Vera Wang and Zac Posen.
