Shirley to receive humanitary award

On Thursday 30th January at 7.30pm, at London’s Dorchester Hotel, the legendary Liza Minnelli will accept the International Hero Award for her outstanding work on behalf of people living with HIV and AIDS around the world.
John Demsey – President of MAC commented:
“We have a saying that every day is World AIDS Day at M.A.C. Our Viva Glam spokespeople Shirley Manson, Elton John and Mary J. Blige lend their voices to speak to people around the world about the continuing AIDS pandemic. We are truly honoured to receive this award. Not only is it great to be recognized as a company for the work that we do, but it also raises the awareness that AIDS continues to be a major issue”.
Other awards presented on the evening include the Corporate Hero Award in recognition of an exemplary contribution in support of the fight against HIV & AIDS to the M.A.C AIDS Fund who have raised more than $25 million through the sale of VIVA Glam lipsticks in order to provide daily services for men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS around the world. Shirley Manson lead singer of Garbage and spokesperson for VIVA Glam will collect the award with president of MAC Cosmetics John Demsey.
