I love Shirley’s music. I’m a HUGE Garbage fan and an even bigger Shirley Manson fan. I was so looking forward to her solo album. It’s great music because it’s not like silly pop music that’s produced. Elvis was different and crazy at one time too. Let Shirley make the music that makes her great. Her music is different and dark and that is precisely why millions listen to it and love it.

FYI…It seems more likely that it was Universal (or Geffen/Interscope/Radioactive which are all subsidiaries) were the ones that didn’t like the record not Warner Bros. Especially since Shirley is based in LA (where in the US Garbage is on Geffen and Shirley is still signed to Radioactive), its more likely Universal Records that this petition should be targeting.
Shirley is the best no matter what style of music she does ill love it.
I love Shirley’s music like everyone else. Shirley sings about stuff i can relate to. I want her CD NOW!

Its time to bring an end to this morally corrupt corporate era! Its time the creative down to earth Scot brought the establishment down with a little help from her friends. She’s a fighter, I wouldn’t want to be telling her what she can/cannot release. She will win!

The one thing that the music industry desperately needs right now is diversity.
Ms. Manson’s new album represents that diversity, and in addition she’s a well-established artist who has recorded several exceptionally successful albums over the past decade.
Garbage’s and Shirley Manson’s millions of paying fans have eagerly awaited a major release from these artists for nearly three years now.
Ms. Manson’s solo album can only result in success and profits for the record company, as her loyal and massive audience purchases the new album. If it remains unreleased, then the company will simply never profit from it at all.
We look forward to Shirley Manson’s new album eagerly.

I truly hope that the men in charge at the record company will sober up, smell the coffee and see this as it really is: As a huge fan of Shirley Manson I hope that her solo album will be released no matter how dark they consider it to be. I can relate so much to stuff she sings about, and I hope from the depth of my heart that the album will be released the way Shirley, and no one else, wants it to be. We need artists like her and her band who makes music that people can relate to and music that isn’t just cheap goods like most music on the charts. Please Shirley ; Fight for your right to release YOUR solo album the way you want it to be. You are truly admirable!!!

I find it incomprehensible that a record company would go through the effort and cost of recording an album and then not release it. Even if it didn’t sell well it would at least recover them some of the money they must’ve put out. And with such a large, loyal fanbase I’m sure it would sell very well indeed – fortunately it’s also a very vocal fanbase that won’t take this lying down!

Free Shirley Manson! Shirley is an amazing singer/ artist and whatever she does I will love. I’m so tired of these one note record labels who are all about making money. MUSIC IS AN ART it shouldn’t in any way be controlled. Too Noir ? How about too pop too main stream ? Shirley sings from her heart, her lyrics are amazing something everyone can relate too.
