Garbage unable to play Soundwave Sydney

Mother Nature has forced the band to withdraw from the Sydney leg of Soundwave Festival. Their gear (along with Paramore’s) was unfortunately held up by a flood and hasn’t made it in time for them to perform.

Garbage Tweeted:
Our gear has failed to make it for the show tonight at Soundwave in Sydney. Our truck got held up by a flood. So sad we can’t play.

It seems from earlier in the day that the organizers were trying to get the bands gear and Paramore’s to the site with a series of tweets:

There was some hope that the bands equipment may arrive;

OK! Here’s the final outcome: Sadly Garbage are unable to unpack & setup in time. Their spot will be taken up by The Sharks. #SW13 #SW

By the looks of it, the bands gear arrived too late for them to perform even with the best efforts of that from the festival organizers to get everone’s gear there.

This news only effects today’s show at the Olympic Park. The band will be able to play the Metro Theatre tomorrow night.
